WRLL Coaching Center

"Little League Baseball is a very good thing because it keeps parents off the streets."  -Yogi Berra

Coaching is a great way to not only to spend time with your own sons and daughters, but also to meet their friends and families.  Speaking from a collective history of experience, the friendships that are forged on the T-Ball field often last through high school and beyond.

"I don’t know anything about baseball or softball, will I still be able to coach?"   -- Absolutely, especially for the younger divisions, a baseball pedigree is not necessary for coaching.  We also have a very active and engaged board and group of experienced coaches who are always willing and able to help develop practice plans and provide pointers on drills to develop skills.

Ultimately, the most important skills for a new coach are patience, commitment, organization, a desire to teach and learn, and an ability to make practices and games fun.  The most important skills that can be coached at this age such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and overcoming failure can be drawn from the life experience of any parent
